Kevin Bawden, LMSW

I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) providing therapy to youth and adults through Western Kansas Therapy Associates. I also work with the Kansas Institute for Positive, Healthy, and -Inclusive Communities (KIPHIC), where I support community-focused behavioral health initiatives and training across the state.

In my clinical work, I take a practical, client-centered approach that draws from Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies (CBT/DBT). My goal is to offer a structured and supportive space where clients can better understand how their experiences have shaped them—and where they can build tools to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong,” I focus on helping clients make connections, explore patterns, and identify what matters to them. Whether someone is managing stress, navigating relationships, recovering from trauma, or working through transitions, I aim to provide space for thoughtful reflection, skill-building, and meaningful progress.

In addition to direct practice, I’m involved in efforts to expand access to behavioral health services statewide. Through KIPHIC, I collaborate on training and systems-level work to support professionals and communities in improving outcomes for children, families, and underserved populations.
