Josh Tanguay – Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Josh is a graduate of Fort Hays State University and has been a practicing mental health therapist for ten years. He specializes in the effects of psychological trauma and related trauma-informed therapies. These include EMDR and Trauma Focused CBT. Although Josh primarily worked with children and teens during the first part of his career, he has started seeing more adults in practice over the last several years and enjoys this work very much.
Josh is also trained in critical incident stress debriefings and provides these to groups who have experienced an acute traumatic incident. He is a certified trainer in the PREPARED school crisis preparation and response model. He provides about a dozen trainings each year on a variety of mental health topics and to diverse audiences from first responders to mental health clinicians.
Josh is also an adjunct instructor with Fort Hays State University, and for five years was a full-time faculty member in the psychology department before switching to full-time practice. Josh has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at FHSU that spans well over a dozen different courses.
Josh is currently also focused on first responder as well as veterinarian mental health as these are two areas of practice that he has grown into over the last several years.
